My sleep is starving.
It is shivering sweat like snow
across my shoulders as I sob scream
after scream against your skin;
"sorry, I'm so sorry,
go back to sleep."
I am sad
and struggling to stay
together but you slump
against my sickness
and hold me
Sorry to stop by here again-I just read this for the nth time (it's been a year haha) and I can't tell you just how much I can relate to this. As a person with sleeping problems, it's difficult to get a goodnight sleep without having too much to think and worry and cry over about. So thank you for this.
prettyyyy. i love the alliterative second stanza most.
I'm speechless-my bad
Profound and insightful. I particularly like the connection between My sleep is starving and "sorry, I'm so sorry, go back to sleep."
Your writing never disappoints.
You had me at: "My sleep is starving"
All those 's' words are just wonderful; great alliteration, especially the line: 'It is shivering sweat like snow'.
This. So much this.
Wonderfully powerful work again, you have such an amazing way with words
This is amazing.
